Maca is a native vegetable that grows in the elevated Andes of Peru. The root is regarded as an extremely nutrifying, revitalising food that heightens strength, energy and endurance. Maca is luxuriant in protein, vitamins, minerals, 19 amino acids and essential fatty acids. Nearly all Maca cultivation in Peru is carried out organically as there are few pests at such elevated altitudes of approximately 4500 metres/15000 feet.
